Just watched amazing video, "The Trap: What Happened to Our Dream of Freedom" a 2007 BBC documentary that details the ideological underpinnings of the modern conservative movement. Shows how the movement grew out of the Cold War with a dark and distrustful vision of humans as selfish, isolated and suspicious creatures -- and how they used this concept to try and form a new type of free society. A society in which the language of freedom would be used in a way that that ulimately made people less free.
